HOW IT WORKS
Crate Escape runs exciting escape room games in the middle of Christchurch. You and a group of friends are confined to a room, full of hidden clues, locks and puzzles for 60 minutes.
Your goal is to solve all the puzzles and escape with time to spare!
Crate Escape is great for friends and family or as a team-building activity for your staff, co-workers, school, club or other group. Everyone must WORK TOGETHER to escape from the room.
SORRY KIDS - THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 1 ADULT (OVER 18) PER GROUP
Who Is it suitable for?
Crate Escape is R13. The puzzles are designed to be solved by adults. 13 to 16 year olds need 1 adult (18 or over) in their team.
We get all sorts attempting the room - from couples on a date, families, flatmates, work groups, school groups and friends. It's a lot of fun!
Do you take larger groups?
We can only have a maximum of 6 people in each room per session - so 12 people per hour. If you have a larger group we recommend breaking up into 2 or 3 teams and racing each other in consecutive sessions. Nearby there are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and the Margaret Mahy playground - so there is lots to do while you wait.
Is there parking or toilets?
There are brand new public toilets across the road at the Margaret Mahy playground.
There is no free parking, but it is usually easy to find a metered park either right outside Crate Escape or across the road.
IS IT SCARY?
No. And don't worry if you are claustrophobic - the room is large!
